Into Mommyhood: 4 month adventures!!

Did you know that you need to cut a baby's fingernails every 3 to 4 days!? And did you know their fingernails grow jagged from birth?

Elena had her 4 month doc appointment: weight = 14.8 pounds, length = 24 inches. 50th percentile. She wears size 3-6 months, and also size 6 months. She is now in size 2 diapers.

We had a scary incident with our dog, Charlie. One day I was playing with Elena on the floor. The dog was laying beside us, and he suddenly lunged for her hand, like a symbolic nip, but did not actually bite her. I let out a blood-curdling scream, and my husband spanked the dog like never before. So scary because if the dog wanted to, he could have done some serious damage to her, and I wasn't quick enough to protect her! Now we make sure to place ourselves between her and the dog.

To follow up on an earlier post Baby Products we Love: there are 3 reasons we definitely prefer snap onesies over zipper onesies: 1) during cold weather, you can control how much of baby you expose with the snaps, whereas a zipper will open the entire onesie. 2) zippers go down one leg, which means you have to stuff the other leg into the onesie, this is hard to do when baby fits the onesie perfectly or even starts to get too big for it. snaps open at both legs, and you just snap the onesie closed around the legs. 3) zippers are more likely to catch baby's skin or other things in them, it can be a challenge during night-time diaper changes or when baby is flailing arms and legs, you have to watch the inside and the outside of the zipper while zipping at the same time. they can also bend and push into baby's skin.
